CIOBulletin - Priya Nair to Lead Hindustan Unilever as First Woman CEO

A trailblazer takes the helm, steering HUL toward a bold new future.

In a historic move, Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL) has named Priya Nair as its Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, effective August 1, 2025. Nair, currently Unilever’s President of Beauty and Well-Being, will become the first woman to lead the FMCG giant, marking a milestone in its legacy. She will also join the HUL Board, pending approvals, while continuing her role on Unilever’s Leadership Executive.

Nair’s journey with HUL began in 1995, where her passion and talent shone through in various sales and marketing roles across home care, beauty, and personal care. Her leadership as Executive Director of Home Care (2014–2020) and Beauty & Personal Care (2020–2022) transformed these sectors. Later, as Unilever’s Global Chief Marketing Officer for Beauty & Well-Being, she cemented her reputation as a visionary.

Rohit Jawa, HUL’s outgoing CEO, will step down on July 31, 2025, to explore new personal and professional horizons. During his two-year tenure, Jawa drove volume-led growth and introduced the transformative ‘ASPIRE’ strategy, positioning HUL for success in high-growth markets.

Nair’s appointment signals a new era for HUL, blending her deep expertise with a fresh perspective. Her leadership promises to inspire and drive the company toward greater innovation and impact in the FMCG landscape.
