NPR appoints Mishka Pitter-Armand as CMO to lead marketing innovation, audience growth, and revenue diversification.
NPR President and CEO Katherine Maher announced Mishka Pitter-Armand's appointment to the position of Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) for the organization. The CMO in her new role will mainly strive for audience growth, better brand interaction, and stronger revenue sources that are long-lasting.
Pitter-Armand, who is expressing her excitement, called it a “privilege of a lifetime” to become part of NPR. She also promised to help the public be informed and enriched, which is the mission of the station. As the CMO, she will focus on digital growth, audience diversification, and performance marketing in partnership with the editorial, product, and development teams.
Katherine Maher pointed out Pitter-Armand’s skill in positioning purpose and product as one, and she referred to the latter’s diverse engagement and mission-driven growth as over ability. The new CMO is also going to join hands with National Public Media to make NPR more attractive to underwriting partners.
Pitter-Armand was the Chief Advancement Officer at Crisis Text Line and the Vice President of Brand and Product Marketing for the Girl Scouts of the USA before she became NPR’s executive. Her background also includes working for PepsiCo and JDRF, where she ran community engagement campaigns that won awards.
NPR’s new CMO, having had extensive experience in both the corporate and nonprofit spheres, is ready to lead the organization’s next phase of innovation and impact.
