Samsung CMO Drives Future-Ready Retail Marketing Shift

Allison Stransky, Samsung CMO, is revolutionizing the marketing of tech products by applying AI, personalization through data mining, Reddit as a marketing channel and smart home retail.

Allison Stransky, Samsung's Chief Marketing Officer, is reinventing the brand's approach to retail and digital marketing by utilizing data and conducting experiments. With only two years under her belt as the CMO and VP of Corporate Marketing, she has brought about a new age and has transformed the game by using first-party data, AI technologies, and the latest platforms available such as Reddit to make things personal.

The connected home is a key concept viewed by the CMO, which is the merger of product ecosystems and lifestyle-oriented marketing. Samsung has established persona-based journeys under her and integrated well at SmartThings and customer care which continues the transition of personalization to hyper-personalization.

Having served as a marketer at Google and L'Oréal, Stransky predicts the difficulties of marketing in a technology-driven world, i.e., moving retail media clean rooms and optimizing with LLMs, such as Gemini and Perplexity AI. However, the CMO is optimistic, particularly regarding the use of influencers, Reddit content, and in-store marketing by Samsung.

Samsung's marketing organization, with its visionary CMO, is set up to take on the new frontier with revenue of 56 billion in Q1 2025.
