PM Modi calls upon citizens to maintain their constitutional values and fundamental duties on Constitution Day.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi celebrated the Constitution Day by appealing to people to maintain the values of the constitutional values & fundamental duties, as he maintains that fulfilling these duties is important in the creation of a Viksit Bharat. In his message, he said that these duties are the foundation of the ethical underpinnings of a strong democracy and are central to the shaping of future generations.
Modi reflected upon the transformative journey of the Constitution, how it empowered the ordinary citizens, and how it made the "great Indian democracy" stronger. He remembered bowing in front of Parliament in 2014 and then again in 2019 as an expression of reverence before the country's document of direction.
Marking the 150th anniversary of the birth anniversaries of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and Bhagwan Birsa Munda, featuring and sharing their role in the national unity and justice. He also celebrated the 150th anniversary of the Vande Mataram and the 350th year of martyrdom of Guru Teg Bahadur Ji.
The prime minister emphasized that chapter of Article 51A on constitutional values & fundamental duties, which needs to be adopted by each citizen. Urging young people to responsibly vote, he urged institutions to mark the Constitution Day by honoring first-time voters in an effort to strengthening democracy through governance.
Modi said that as the country approaches the centenary of the Constitution in 2049, the focus must be on taking actions that ensure the strengthening of the democratic spirit of the country. He said that commitment to constitutional values & fundamental duties is the backbone of strong & resilient democracy and paves the way for India’s bright future.
