Project Q Secures €7.5M to Advance Defense Technology

Raising funds of 7.5M, Project Q funds the development of AI-based defense technology to boost data integration and situational awareness in the military and security sectors.

Project Q, a German startup in defense technology has received funding of 7.5 million euros to boost its Internet of Defence (IoD) platform to disrupt data integration in the defense market. As a leader of the investment round, there were Project A, Expeditions Fund and Superangel involved.

Project Q is an AI and data fusion and situational awareness company established by Leonard Wessendorff and Frank Christian Sprengel and serves defense, security, and industrial fields. The Q-Open Source Platform (Q-OSP) provided by the company allows for the easy combination of different sensor systems and outside data, improving the effectiveness of defense operations in real-time.

By taking an open platform-agnostic strategy, Project Q also bolsters interoperability within the defense networks and becomes a possible major actor in the rising sector of AI-based defense technology.

The money will be used to fast-track the development of Q-OSP and Project Q capability in defense technologies in Europe. The company sets the goal to be the central hub for data integration in the defense market.

The funding of investors specialized in deep tech and dual-use innovations, and able to raise anywhere between 1.5M-20M dollars like Expeditions Fund or Superangel, reflects the growing strategic power in relation to defense technology startups in the present geopolitical environment.
