HCA Healthcare launches a Hyderabad GCC, a $75M investment to drive healthcare innovation, build an employment base of 3000 people, and provide robust support to India's life sciences ecosystem.
U.S.-based HCA Healthcare has inaugurated its first global capability center (GCC) in Hyderabad as part of a huge investment in the India healthcare and technology ecosystem. The $75 million building, covering an area of 4.28 lakh sq. ft., is likely to employ 3,000 professionals by 2026.
For its part, the healthcare giant, which runs 192 hospitals and 2500 care centers across the U.S. and UK, views Hyderabad as a strategic talent and innovation center? Initially, the GCC will be focused on IT, supply chain, finance, and human resources and plans to move forward to include artificial intelligence and operations based on analyzing data.
Telangana's minister of IT and Industries, D. Sridhar Babu, who inaugurated the center, highlighted Hyderabad's robust healthcare and life sciences ecosystem, including its reputation for world-class hospitals and over 800 companies that work in the pharma space.
Emily Duncan, senior vice president of HCA Healthcare's Global Capability Network, and Atul Kapoor, head of the Hyderabad Centre, here confirmed that it has already reached a level of 1,100 in headcount, and it will increase during the run-up to next year.
With establishing this GCC, HCA Healthcare looks forward to improving operational excellence and its global positioning and contributing to the growth of healthcare and technology in India.
