Dorchester County Farm Bureau ‘gives back’ to a deserving local family during the holiday season as part of the Farm Bureau Cares initiative.
The holiday season was brightened for a local family in trouble by the Dorchester County Farm Bureau in cooperation with the local Farm Bureau Insurance agents. The office wrote a check in the amount of $1,000 to Laura Rice, who recently lost her home to fire.
Tim Cardwell, the agency manager, said the organization would stand up for the family of Rice. He said: "They trust Farm Bureau Insurance with their needs, and we're happy to support them during the time of difficulty. I hope this donation makes their holidays a little brighter."
It forms part of the Farm Bureau Cares initiative that collects local families and charities together across South Carolina during December. This year, Farm Bureau Cares made their donation of over $33,800 statewide with each local office’s donation being matched by Farm Bureau Insurance. The initiative works to help people who have financial and medical challenges.
