India’s Travel and Tourism Sector Set for Breakthrough Growth by 2025

India’s travel and tourism industry is predicted to see swift growth over the coming years, helping the economy and providing jobs for countless people by 2025.

WTTC projects that India’s travel and tourism industry will make strong progress and help the economy by directly contributing over Rs 22 trillion by 2025. With such strong growth, it becomes clear that the sector continues to strengthen the economy after the pandemic.

India enjoys more travel and tourism activity because of the rise in both international and domestic tourism. The World Travel and Tourism Council believes that foreign tourists will deliver close to Rs 3.2 trillion to India by 2025, whereas domestic tourists will contribute an impressive Rs 16 trillion. As a result, many industries, like hospitality, transportation and culture, benefit and help urban as well as rural areas.

There will be significant increases in jobs, as the sector will offer over 48 million by 2025. Various people like hotel staff, tour operators, artisans and several others are part of the tourism sector’s wide influence.

Looking into the future, WTTC expects the travel and tourism industry to increase its economic value to Rs 42 trillion and produce up to 64 million new jobs by 2035. The development will be prompted by new spending on infrastructure, connections and rising interest in niche areas like wellness and eco-tourism.

Since the main challenge is raising international tourism, continuous investment and helpful policies are important. Taking advantage of India’s variety in culture and nature, as well as planned initiatives, tourism in India will grow in a healthy way.
