Grant Thornton appointed Wi Liem Chua as its new head of management consulting in a bid to reform its management consulting business practice and to further deepen its leadership in transformation and operational strategy in Australia.
Wi Liem Chua has been appointed as the new national head of management consulting at Grant Thornton and will be effective this month. Chua will remain the nation head of retail and consumer products, a position that he has been in since June 2023.
Chua, who has over 15 years of industry experience, is an operational expert and possesses a strong consulting background in management leadership within the firm. He has also been key to transformational programs and the creation of operating models that aligned with customer, employee and commercial objectives.
Chua thanked the opportunity stating that she is humbled to be taking on the same role and the person is a great leader who cares about our clients and people. He is also not denying any role of his predecessor, Jamie Downs whom he has closely worked with for the last 18 months.
Jamie Downs, who continues to work as a partner at Grant Thornton, has commended Chua as being in that management consulting position. According to Downs, his ambition, hard work, and curiosity have made him successful as a consultant ever since he ventured into the field ten years back.
Grant Thornton highlighted that the enlarged leadership that Chua brings onboard will add leverage to its management consulting potency in Australia. Chua restated his dedication to developing a culture of learning and CARE values and noted the importance of always having integrity and understanding in dealing with clients in order to solve all complexities in business.
