India and Israel Boost Collaboration in Medtech Innovation

India and Israel are considering closer collaboration in the development of medical technology, cybersecurity, and high-innovation startups.

India and Israel are seeking a closer collaboration to boost medical technology discovery, Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal informs on bilateral trade talks on Friday. Focusing on medtech as one of the pillars of the proposed trade agreement, Goyal mentioned that the cooperation with Israel would become a major boost to the startup ecosystem in India, particularly deep tech and high-quality innovation.

One of the best opportunities that India can exploit is the success of Israel in transforming the challenges into high-level solutions, whether in health, agriculture, or climate technologies. Goyal, who headed a business delegation of 60 members, noted that the two countries are now established to jointly innovate on the best medical technology solutions on a large scale and at competitive prices.

According to the minister, Israeli startups with their high density and technological prowess are keen on collaborating with India because it has a huge market with the potential to innovate. The minister identified cybersecurity, low-carbon steel, mobility, and medical technology devices as the key areas for collaboration.

Goyal resorted to adding that there can be a specialized startup bridge in the two countries so that co-creation, accelerated innovation, and cross-border investment can be realized. Deepening medtech collaboration with Israel, as India aspires to become the startup capital of the world, could potentially lead to significant improvements in healthcare and other industries.
