India Showcases MedTech Potential at Global Forum

The MedTech Forum 2025 in India highlights the innovation of medical technology and investment and regulation advancement with a goal of achieving a 50 billion dollar market in 2030.

The 11th APACMed MedTech Forum (MTF) concluded in New Delhi on September 17, highlighting India's increasing importance in the global medical technology sector. The event was organized by the Asia Pacific Medical Technology Association (APACMed), and it included more than 500 leaders, including government officials, regulators, and CEOs.

The 2-day forum was themed Swastha Bharat—A Healthier India, Together; it was in line with the Viksit Bharat 2047 vision of India and the Healthcare Vision 2030. Union Health Minister JP Nadda highlighted that the sector of medical technology is a key pillar of change, allowing healthcare to be more affordable and accessible due to the digital health, diagnostics, and AI-driven solutions.

The executives of such companies as Stryker CEO Kevin Lobo, Intuitive Surgical CEO Gary S. Guthart, and Katarzyna Mazur-Hofsass of Fresenius Medical Care emphasized the strategic value of India as the focus of investments and innovation. There were deliberations on the transformation of India into a low-cost producer of the high-value medical technology innovation manufacturing center, supported by a robust startup culture and deep R&D foundation.

Another Regulators Forum explored how regulatory agility can foster the advancement of AI, digital health, and customized medicine. India is hoping that a 50 billion dollar MedTech market could be accomplished by 2030 through the efforts of the National Medical Device Policy and Production Linked Incentives.

The MedTech Forum projects India's medical technology market to reach $50 billion by 2030.
