Users of Apple iMessage can now preview the rich link of any Threads post that includes information like the user’s profile picture, name, and text.
Users will be able to see a preview of a Threads post's content within the messages app thanks to Meta's Threads' additional support for rich link previews on Apple iMessage.
A user's name, the author's profile picture, and a text preview of the post are all included in the rich link preview of a Threads post on iMessage. It appears that Apple has also whitelisted Threads as an authorized social media platform to enable the same feature on iMessage. This feature is based on the typical Meta tag contained within the post's HTML code.
The user experience is streamlined across platforms thanks to Google Messages, which supports rich link previews for Threads posts in addition to iMessage.
All of the major social media networks, including X, formerly known as Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram, currently feature Apple. The business has not yet created an account on Threads, the newest microblogging social media site from Meta, the company founded by Mark Zuckerberg.
Within a few days of its official launch, Threads by Instagram received a massive response and attracted over 100 million sign-ups. The user base has, however, drastically decreased since that time. The company is currently focusing on stabilizing the platform and maintaining the user base by introducing new features and capabilities in order to compete with Elon Musk's X.
