WhatsApp Beta now group calls

Users of WhatsApp's iOS beta version now have access to a new feature that allows them to start group calls with up to 15 other people.

A new addition to WhatsApp shows a feature for its iOS beta users. The new feature added allows users to make group calls with as many as 15 people.  Earlier, group calls used to support around 32 participants, but initiating a call was limited to around 7 people.

Users of WhatsApp, a messaging app owned by Meta, will soon be able to initiate group calls with up to 15 other users when using the iOS beta version of the application. The group call can still hold up to 32 people after this update, but beta users can now choose up to 15 people to join it.

With the help of this new feature, users will find it easier to set up group calls with more participants. In the coming days, it is anticipated that more users will have access to it.

The 32-person video calling feature for WhatsApp was introduced last year by Meta Founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg, enhancing users' communication options. Additionally, the platform unveiled a new feature in iOS beta earlier this month that lets users send high-definition videos. Although the feature maintains the video's original dimensions, some light compression is still used. Sending videos in their original quality is therefore impractical. The high-quality option must be manually chosen by users whenever they want to send a video that is of higher quality because "Standard quality" will always be the default setting for all videos. The recipient will be informed that the video was sent using the high-quality option when a tag is added to the message bubble indicating that it was.
