ciobulletin - LevelBlue Acquires Trustwave to Forge World’s Largest Security Powerhouse

Merger blends AI-driven security and elite threat intelligence to shield global clients

LevelBlue, a leader in AI-driven managed security services, has agreed to acquire Trustwave, a top-tier cybersecurity and managed detection and response (MDR) provider, from the MC2 Security Fund, as announced on July 3, 2025. This blockbuster deal, following LevelBlue’s acquisition of Aon’s cybersecurity unit, positions the company as the world’s largest independent managed security services provider (MSSP), uniting two industry giants to combat escalating cyber threats.

The merger combines LevelBlue’s expertise in strategic risk management with Trustwave’s Fusion Platform, a cloud-native MDR service offering 24/7 protection. Enhanced by Trustwave’s SpiderLabs threat intelligence and LevelBlue’s AI-driven tools, the unified platform ensures unmatched visibility and resilience across cloud, hybrid, and on-premises systems. Trustwave’s FedRAMP and StateRAMP certifications further bolster LevelBlue’s ability to serve U.S. government clients, meeting strict Defense Department standards.

“This is a game-changer for cybersecurity,” said LevelBlue CEO Robert McCullen. “Together, we’ll deliver smarter, stronger protection for businesses and governments worldwide.” Trustwave CEO Eric Harmon echoed, “This partnership supercharges our ability to innovate and stay ahead of cyber threats.”

With over 1,000 security experts and a global reach, the combined entity, backed by The Chertoff Group, is set to redefine cybersecurity, offering integrated solutions to safeguard critical assets in an increasingly perilous digital landscape.
