Project Jupiter brings jobs, infrastructure upgrades, and sustainable AI innovation to Doña Ana County.
Oracle is making a bold investment in America’s artificial intelligence future through Project Jupiter, a large-scale AI data center campus in southern New Mexico that promises lasting economic and community benefits for Doña Ana County.
The technology giant will be the primary tenant of the campus, which is designed to support advanced AI workloads while creating thousands of jobs and strengthening the local economy. During construction, the project is expected to add nearly $384 million each year to the regional economy. Once operational, it is projected to generate about $113 million annually in direct economic output.
State and county officials estimate the project will deliver more than $600 million in gross revenue tax payments over time. Oracle has also committed $360 million directly to Doña Ana County to improve schools, infrastructure, and public services, along with an additional $50 million to modernize aging water systems and improve water quality and reliability for residents.
Beyond infrastructure, Oracle is investing in people. The company expects the campus to create around 4,000 construction jobs and up to 1,500 long-term roles in the region. Local hiring will be a priority, supported by partnerships with universities, community colleges, and workforce training programs. Oracle Academy is already expanding across New Mexico to help students build skills in technology and project management.
Sustainability is central to the project’s design. The data center will use a closed-loop cooling system that avoids heavy water consumption and a self-funded microgrid to ensure energy reliability without troubling residents. With Project Jupiter, Oracle aims to advance U.S. leadership in AI while delivering real, long-term value to the communities it serves.
