Stashfin has appointed Nicole Fernandes as Lead - Corporate Communications and Public Relations, as part of its focus on brand governance, reputational management and strategic storytelling in scaling the financial services sector.
In her new position, Fernandes will be responsible for Stashfin's end-to-end communications strategy, which includes media relations, leadership positioning, stakeholder engagement and narrative development. The appointment is indicative of increased significance of public relations within the fintech community as companies are under increased regulatory oversight and public expectations of transparency and trust.
Fernandes has almost a decade's worth of experience in corporate communications, including fintech press, brand strategy, and corporate communications. She previously worked as a senior account manager at Madison PR where she handled communications mandates for major news and media brands. Before that, she worked at Ketchum Sampark driving strategic media engagement with financial services clients and also was behind the fintech-focused public relations initiatives at Wizikey.
Her career foundation in journalism provides her with work experience from Deccan Chronicle Holdings and Yahoo Finance, both adding to the relevance of her data-driven approach to editorially supported public relations.
At Stashfin, we anticipate Fernandes to contribute to the company's corporate voice, enhance leadership positioning, and spearhead discussions about responsible digital lending. The move signals a larger fintech trend of investing in placing senior public relations leaders to establish long-term credibility and maintain sustainable brand equity.
