Red Hat announces an AI-enabled open-source stack based on the upcoming Vera Rubin platform designed by Nvidia.
During CES 2026, Red Hat declared that it was intending strongly to interlock its business-open-source suite with the recently introduced Vera Rubin platform by Nvidia to strengthen its position in future AI infrastructure. The relocation makes Red Hat a supplier of point solutions in software alongside a major force when businesses transition to cohesive high-density AI systems.
The company claimed that it will provide a complete AI stack optimized on Nvidia Rubin that comprises Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Red Hat OpenShift, and Red Hat AI. It is introducing a specialized version, Red Hat Enterprise Linux on Nvidia, with support for Rubin platform capabilities available at day zero, to allow faster deployment of large-scale AI workloads.
The new offering, according to Red Hat, is such that it guarantees that there is a smooth flow between the core operating system, and therefore innovations that are developed on Nvidia Rubin are directed back to the primary Red Hat Enterprise Linux distribution. This strategy aims at making transitions easy for the customers but at the same time consistent in production environments.
Nvidia The Vera Rubin platform announced by Nvidia is already attracting a very positive ecosystem showing by hardware vendors, cloud providers, and software giants. Red Hat seeks to assist organizations in accelerating AI training, inference, and other uses of agentic AI owing to their cooperative effort with enterprise open source paired with advanced GPU architecture by Rubin.
The announcement highlights the approach by Red Hat to continue to be the core of enterprise AI implementation through the close integration of open-source software with the latest AI hardware ecosystems.
