European Energy continues to lead Poland’s renewable energy growth with significant new solar projects.
European Energy has successfully connected its largest solar park in Poland, a 54MW facility near Debnica in West Pomerania, to the grid. The construction of the solar park was completed on December 21, 2024, marking a major milestone for the company’s renewable energy efforts in the region.
With nearly 4GW of projects in development across Poland, including wind, solar, and battery technologies, European Energy is positioning itself as a key player in the country's green energy sector. The completion of the Debnica solar park brings the company’s total operational capacity in Poland to nearly 200MW, up from 131MW. In addition, European Energy is advancing over 1.6GW of screening projects, demonstrating its commitment to furthering renewable energy in the country.
Olga Sypula, Country Manager for European Energy in Poland, expressed excitement about the achievement, saying, “We are thrilled to have energised our largest solar project in Poland. This milestone is the result of tremendous effort from our team and establishes us as a key player in Poland’s renewable energy sector.”
Financing for the Debnica solar farm was secured in August 2024, with a €33.3 million loan from Polish bank mBank, which also supports the development of the Lobez solar park. Poul Jacobsen, Executive Vice President at European Energy, praised the company’s engineering team for their expertise, highlighting the strong collaboration with local partners in Poland.
European Energy has been active in Poland since 2007, with offices in Warsaw and Gdynia, further cementing its presence in the country's renewable energy landscape.
