Gucci robbed

A Gucci storefront in a Los Angeles mall was robbed by nine men. The robbery was caught on camera but the authorities are still unsure of the damage that was done.

A group of nine men robbed the Gucci storefront at the Westfield Century City Mall in Los Angeles on Monday. They stormed into Bloomingdale's at around 3:10 PM PST and fled with arms stuffed with goods.

The thieves are captured on camera fleeing the retail outlet as a bystander records the incident in a video that was posted on Twitter. An employee of Gucci called the police while a security guard watched.

The Los Angeles Police Department has only confirmed the occurrence of the incident; no details regarding the value of the stolen goods have been made available. It's not yet known if the burglars were armed or if anyone was hurt.

Although nine men are shown in the video, an LAPD spokesperson told the Los Angeles Times on Tuesday that they were unsure of the exact number of men in the group. The police department declined to identify the store that was robbed and hasn't said if any of the suspects have been apprehended. However, they did note that the thieves sped off in a red Kia and a white SUV.

In response, the LAPD issued a press release about their most recent summit on organized retail theft, which was held on July 12.

At the summit, over 200 retailers were present. Speaking topics included the relationship between enforcement agencies and retail security, asset protection, and enforcement activities and speakers included officials from the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office.
