U.S. Announces Fast-Track Visas for World Cup

Trump announces a rapid visa scheme for 2026 World Cup attendees amid worldwide politics and significant sports preparations.

The United States has recently introduced a special expedited visa system to the fans of the 2026 World Cup, and this is a significant step in international sport organization. The initiative was announced by President Donald Trump, who at the White House unveiled it with FIFA President Gianni Infantino, introducing the FIFA Pass that grants the ticket holders priority in visa appointments.

Infantino stressed the fact of the move, which means that more millions of fans across the world are likely to travel to attend one of the largest sports events in the world. The FIFA Pass would also serve to streamline the entry procedures, but U.S. officials stressed that the pass speeds up the visa interviews but does not guarantee entry.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio claimed that the normal vetting steps would be available, and fans should not wait to submit applications. It is anticipated that within six to eight weeks the interviews will be done under the expedited program.

The news is made as the World Cup takes the center stage of the second term of Trump and the 250th anniversary celebrations of the nation. Still, political tensions are not stopped in the sports world, and Trump even hinted that some host cities would end up losing matches because of crime or migration reasons.

FIFA will reveal a new peace prize and draw the World Cup on December 5 in Washington, and the result gives rise to speculations of Trump as a winner. With the growing global interest, the U.S. is preparing to assume a prominent role in significant international sports diplomacy before 2026.
