Intel, Baidu Announce Collaboration Across AI, AD and 5G

Intel and the Chinese tech giant Baidu have signed a new MoUto build upon the collaboration they have forged already. The signing will mean that both the companies willtake advantage of Intel’s expertise in support resources, hardware, and software.The collaboration will help Baiduwith its B2B AI strategy and serve many more customers in China and beyond.

Intel in its statement said: “The new agreement, which builds on 10 years of partnership, focuses on optimizing Intel platforms and solutions for the cloud, AI, autonomous driving (AD), 5G and edge – further transforming the way Baidu’s customers consume content and experience its services.”

The collaboration will specifically see the companies work on enhancing Baidu’sAI cloud, video streaming, mobile search/feed, BaiduBrain, PaddlePaddle, DuerOS, and Apollo. Intel will making use of Intel’s leading technologies including:

-Intel® Xeon® Scalable platform

- Intel® Optane™ DC Persistent Memory

- Intel® Optane™ DC SSD,

- silicon photonics

- Ethernet

- Intel AI accelerators and Intel software stack
