Advanced rugged storage technology strengthens mission readiness for the P-8A Poseidon aircraft
One Stop Systems (OSS), a California-based leader in high-performance storage solutions, has secured $10.5 million in new contracts to deliver rugged data-storage units for the U.S. Navy’s P-8A Poseidon reconnaissance aircraft. The awards include one contract directly from the U.S. Navy and another from a major U.S. defense contractor.
At the heart of the agreement is storage technology built to survive the harsh conditions of airborne military operations. The P-8A Poseidon, a surveillance aircraft used for intelligence and reconnaissance missions, gathers massive amounts of sensitive data while in flight. OSS’s rugged storage systems are designed to safely capture, store, and protect that information.
The systems use hot-swappable canisters filled with high-capacity NVMe flash storage. In simple terms, this allows crews to quickly remove and replace storage units without shutting down operations. The data can then be securely transferred for analysis, a critical feature for missions where speed and reliability matter most.
“These latest awards represent the largest aggregate orders to date tied to the P-8A platform,” said Mike Knowles, President and CEO of OSS. He added that OSS has now secured more than $65 million in total contracted revenue connected to the aircraft program, with over $23 million awarded since early 2025.
The company expects the new contracts to contribute to revenue through 2026 and into 2027, reinforcing its growing role in powering advanced airborne defense systems with dependable, mission-ready storage technology.
