Through a more sophisticated and scalable IoT platform, the alliance helps satisfy the growing demands of global enterprise connectivity while supporting KDDI's regional expansion plan.
In order to further its Asia Pacific expansion, Aeris has announced a new IoT platform connectivity management service agreement with the massive Japanese telecom company KDDI Corp. Since 2017, KDDI has been using what is now known as the Aeris IoT Accelerator platform, which was first offered by Ericsson and later purchased by Aeris in early 2023.
The new agreement shows that Aeris' IoT Accelerator platform, which oversees 42 million linked cars and 104 million IoT devices worldwide, is still in high demand.
The arrangement increases Aeris platform capabilities to meet the world's burgeoning enterprise connectivity needs while enabling smooth service continuance.
"Aeris is pleased to support KDDI as part of their transition to the Aeris IoT Accelerator platform," - Sean Gowran, Vice President of Sales, APAC, Aeris. "
The need for more scalable, adaptable, and effective connectivity solutions is driving the switch to a new IoT platform as enterprise IoT usage grows globally. Supporting growing device quantities, intricate international operations, and changing connection needs may provide difficulties for traditional platforms.
KDDI can support new IoT use cases, improve network administration, increase service agility, and better meet the needs of companies looking for dependable, secure, and future-ready linked solutions by switching to a more sophisticated platform.
Rapid digital transformation, increasing industrial automation, and growing demand for connected technologies across industries have made the Asia Pacific region a key target for IoT growth. Reliable IoT solutions are in high demand as nations in the region make significant investments in smart cities, connected cars, manufacturing, utilities, and enterprise digitization.
Businesses need scalable systems that can handle worldwide connection, remote device monitoring, security, and real-time data exchange due to the deployment of millions of connected devices. CIO Bulletin observes that the region is a critical area for IoT providers like Aeris and telecom operators like KDDI to increase their capabilities and support next-generation connected ecosystems because of its sizable enterprise market and rising adoption of cutting-edge technology.
