Spright Agro discusses the growth of agro tech through the use of drones, automation and digital infrastructure and reflects on the dividend and bonus share plan.

Spright Agro Ltd. declared that its board will convene on September 18 to consider a proposal for a strategic expansion into agro tech industry. The company is also contemplating investments in digital market infrastructure and unmanned aerial systems and precision agriculture to reinforce its current agricultural value-chain activities.

The Ahmedabad-based firm, in a filing in exchange, has indicated that it can either contemplate in-house development and/or licensing of technology or strategic alliance or even create a subsidiary in order to propel this transition. Agricultural technology Pilot projects and feasibility studies (including automation of farms and drone uses) are also under consideration.

In conjunction with this action, the board shall deliberate a 10:1 bonus issue where shareholders would be entitled to ten bonus equity shares per share. Moreover, a 100 percent dividend on equity share capital in the current financial year will be taken into consideration.
