Microsoft Bing AI is extending its reach to Chrome and Safari

Microsoft’s AI tool

Microsoft's Bing AI tool is now being made available on other popular browsers like Google Chrome and Safari to increase users.

The rivalry between the two top AI chatbots is intensifying. The ChatGPT-powered Bing AI from Microsoft, which was previously only accessible to users of its own proprietary browser, is now rolling out to more popular browsers like Google Chrome and Safari.

You can now use both browsers to access the chatbot from Bing.com, as first reported by Windows Latest. Microsoft also added dark mode with this update, giving users the choice of a background that is entirely black rather than the dark gray that is frequently used by Google platforms.

Using Bing Chat on Edge has some significant advantages over the other two browsers. Users will only be allowed 2,000-word prompts, and the chatbot will only allow them a limited amount of turns before restarting. Additionally, you'll have to endure pop-ups urging you to download Edge.

Bing Chat was previously only available on Microsoft Edge, which was evidently inconvenient for most users who favor Google Chrome. For that very obvious reason, Microsoft decided to allow Bing Chat to function on other browsers.

In fact, Edge is one of the least popular browsers. According to statistics on browser market share, Edge only accounts for 5.13% of users in 2023, far behind Chrome (61.80%), which dominated the market, and Safari (24.36%), which dominates mobile browsing because it is Apple's default browser.

As a catch to increase the number of users, Bing Chat on Edge only allows you to use 2,000-word prompts as opposed to 4,000-word prompts, which is still a lot of words by most people's standards.
