Ferrari Goes to War Against Counterfeit Goods: Seizes Fake Ferraris Worth Millions

Ferrari has increased efforts to fight piracy as the new campaign to eliminate counterfeit products has seen over 400,000 items seized, including three fake Ferrari cars featuring the famous emblem. The Italian luxury sports car manufacturer is not relenting and has suggested that it may take on dealers in fake products next.

In an audacious manner, Ferrari posted on its social media handles to let the fans know they eradicated a wide range of imitated products in the year 2023. They range from 100 351 pieces of clothing, 91 229 sunglasses, 60 903 wristwatches, 57 503 wallets, 30 161 perfumes, 17 231 bags, 17 438 shoes, 13 415 belts and 11 500 labels. Moreover, other damage included toys and souvenirs, including 1,092 balls, 872 scale model cars, and 800 fake scooters.

Ferrari’s obliteration is not restricted to the physical realm. The following year, the company launched its anti-counterfeiting reward program; targeted at those commercial entities involved in the sale of products bearing the Ferrari brand. In this regard, anyone who gives information that leads to the identification of such establishments is paid with official Ferrari related items and appreciation.

Carlo Daneo, General Legal Counsel of Ferrari said that those involved in producing counterfeit products have advanced in their techniques and some have taken their imitation to the extreme by creating fake Ferrari cars they sell at very high prices. He also acknowledged the good attitude that the community had taken in supporting Ferrari’s fight against counterfeit products noting the commitment of employees and fans in this war.

This approach shows that Ferrari is very serious about maintaining the purity of its brand and ensuring consumers are not cheated out of their hard earned money by replicas of their products.
