Dassault Advances AI Autonomy in Combat Aviation

Dassault Aviation collaborates with Harmattan AI to enhance timelines and autonomic control use and AI implementation in upcoming-era combat aviation systems.

Dassault Aviation continues to form strategic collaborations with Harmattan AI to hasten the introduction of controlled autonomy and artificial intelligence in combat aviation systems. Under the deal, Dassault Aviation is spearheading the funding round of 200 million dollars in Series B conducted by Harmattan AI.

The partnership aims at integrating sovereign-monitored AI into future air fighting systems, enhancing the European defense aviation capabilities. Harmattan AI, the developer proposing infrastructure AI projects to the French and UK Ministries of Defence with several Programs of Record, will leverage the new capital to teach AI-enabled missions and scale production, in addition to expanding its range of applications in ISR and drone capture-and-kill, as well as electronic warfare.

According to Dassault Aviation Chairman and CEO Eric Trappier, the alliance underscores the long-term vision of this company concerning technological perfection and sovereignty in the field of military aircraft. He observed that the next-generation combat systems are based on the introduction of high-value autonomy.

According to the deal, Harmattan AI will design embedded AI features for the upcoming platforms of Dassault Aviation (Rafale F5, UCAS) with great focus on the control of unmanned systems. Dassault Aviation will also be able to bring extensive experience in the field of system architecture, mission integration, and intense intensity of operation conditions.

Mouad M’Ghari, the CEO of Harmattan AI, loved the alliance as a clear move to a new vision of collaborative air fighting with frontier AI and the best aviation engineering in pursuit of the future of defense aviation.
