NASA has chosen Greg Autry to become CFO responsible for managing its $25 billion budget through which he will support financial operations across Moon and Mars missions.
Following approval from President Donald Trump Greg Autry received the nomination to become the next Chief Financial Officer at NASA. As NASA CFO Autry will assume responsibility for managing a $25 billion budget to achieve financial efficiency within Moon and Mars exploration programs.
According to Acting NASA Administrator Janet Petro the Chief Financial Officer’s role at NASA requires both process optimization and efficiency enhancement. His position at the White House combined with his work in commercial space policy positions Greg as an exceptional candidate.
The Associate Provost for Space Commercialization at the University of Central Florida currently serves Autry who possesses extensive qualifications in both academia and his professional roles. He belongs to two key professional roles: he serves on the Commercial Space Transportation Advisory Committee (COMSTAC) at the FAA and also performs as vice president for the National Space Society.
Before his current position Autry led various academic institutions while filling executive positions at Imperial College London and Arizona State University and the University of Southern California. NASA clearly benefits from Autry due to his financial expertise along with his experience in space commerce thus making him essential for future NASA financial planning.
Autry will collaborate directly with NASA leadership to strengthen budget monitoring and simplify financial operations as he implements proper allocation of taxpayer money.
