Financial reset at the top signals a bold new chapter in Brite’s European fintech growth story
Swedish fintech firm Brite Payments has appointed Robin Paulsson as its new Chief Financial Officer, marking a significant shift in its leadership team. The move follows the departure of Fredrik Strömqvist, who stepped down after nearly three years in the role.
Strömqvist announced his exit on LinkedIn, reflecting on his time at the company: “After an exciting journey with Brite, it’s time for me to say goodbye.” He described his experience as both rewarding and meaningful, expressing gratitude for his colleagues and the company’s growth journey.
Founded in 2019, Brite Payments has grown into a profitable instant payments provider, leveraging open banking technology to enable real-time account-to-account transactions between consumers and online merchants. The company has been profitable since 2022 and has attracted significant investor backing.
Stepping into the CFO role, Paulsson brings strong financial leadership experience from across the fintech and financial services sector. He previously held senior finance roles at companies including Klarna and KPA Pension, where he served as CFO. His background also includes leadership positions at Lendify, KPMG, Movestic, and Capacent.
As Brite continues to scale its operations and strengthen its position in Europe’s fast-evolving payments landscape, Paulsson’s appointment signals a clear focus on financial stability, strategic expansion, and disciplined growth. With fresh leadership at the financial helm, Brite Payments appears poised for its next chapter.
