xAI has changed the Grok safeguards to restrict explicit image editing and promote responsible AI usage.
Elon Musk-owned AI company xAI has implemented new protectionist measures around its Grok AI chatbot to restrict image editing capabilities since explicit, worrisome visual content was created. The company stated that this action is part of their broader efforts to ensure the accountability and responsibility of AI technologies.
In a post on X, xAI wrote that it has applied technical limitations against the Grok chatbot editing pictures of actual individuals in stimulating attire. The actions will affect all members, including subscribers, and they are meant to enhance content moderation levels on the site.
Location-based controls were also recently added, and the chatbot is also preventing some image-generation attempts in the jurisdictions where this type of content is prohibited by law. xAI stated that these measures are in line with changing regulatory demands as well as local regulations.
Grok chatbot is a conversational AI chatbot that could utilize image-generation capabilities, and as of recently, some of its more advanced features have been moved to paid subscriptions in the name of enabling more innovation without harm to users, transparency, and compliance.
The firm also added that it was still studying responses submitted by regulators, industry groups, and users in order to make better safeguards. xAI will help establish the Grok chatbot as a more responsible and trusted AI assistant in the fast-growing chatbot ecosystem through increased moderation and governance of chatbots..
