Oracle’s North African public cloud region goes live in Casablanca, offering sovereign AI infrastructure to power the "Digital Morocco 2030" vision.
Oracle announces that it will be opening a public cloud region in Morocco, to meet the growing demand for cloud services and AI in that region. Located in Casablanca, this particular cloud region will provide Moroccan companies, startups, and public bodies with best possible access to Oracle’s most advanced AI and cloud computing solutions, which includes the latest generative and multicloud AI capabilities. N+ONE Datacenters will be the hosting partner for this cloud region.
As part of its distributed cloud strategy, Oracle is setting up the Oracle Cloud region in Casablanca, which will support both public and private organizations to modernize their applications. It also will help them to update their database with robust AI and analytics tools. This region facilitates the migration of all types of workloads (on-premises) to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), while depending on sovereign capabilities that assure the hosting and processing of data within national borders. Thus, making this approach possible to meet sovereignty requirements and ensure compliance with regulations particular to the public, government, and highly regulated sectors.
Commenting on this, Cormac Watters, Executive Vice President and General Manager, EMEA, Oracle stated that, “The opening of our cloud region in Casablanca is a major milestone in our commitment to support Morocco’s growth and its position as a regional hub for AI and digital innovation. With Oracle Cloud Casablanca Region, we are providing organizations across Morocco and North Africa with the secure, high-performance infrastructure they need to innovate with AI and the cloud, and to compete globally.”
As reported by CIO Bulletin, this move by Oracle Cloud Casablanca region will represent a significant expansion on Oracle’s AI infrastructure in Morocco. It also will help the company to implement Morocco’s “Digital Morocco 2030” government strategy, while providing local stakeholders access to Oracle’s latest AI solutions, like OCI AI Agent Platform, OCI Generative AI Service, and Oracle AI Data Platform. Moroccan startups and investors, who make up one of the most vibrant communities in North Africa will also be able to utilize this all-new cloud infrastructure for AI training and inference.
