CMRL was honored by the international community for excellence in environmental sustainability and gender equality at the 2025 Environment and Sustainability Conference, held in Delhi.

Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) has received two awards of high repute at Environmental and Sustainability Conference 2025, held at New Delhi by Greentech Foundation. The Environmental Award and Sustainability Award were in the categories of Environmental Protection and Gender Equality respectively.

These awards highlight the fact that CMRL is committed to sustaining the environment through all its infrastructure and operations formations. Integrating the principles of environmental sustainability into all stages of the project development, CMRL has defined the standard of sustainable urban transport.

The awards were received by Managing Director M.A. Siddique, with Dr. Rajeev K. Srivastava, Chief Environmental Advisor of CMRL offering the award in the presence of main officials present: Project Director T. Archunan, Finance Director S. Krishnamurthy, AGM (Design) S. Rajalakshmi, and Environment Manager R. Saravanakumar.

The awards portray how CMRL is proactively implementing its practices in environmental sustainability and inclusivity. Its sustained works make its carbon footprint, as well as its integration into the ecology of city transport systems, less severe and more sustainable, which makes it one of the leaders in the development of sustainable infrastructures.
