Huawei releases the HarmonyOS 6 open beta of the Watch 5 series with additional capabilities and more intelligent device integration.
Huawei has launched open public beta registration for HarmonyOS 6 on its Watch 5 series, which is a major software update in the Gadgets segment. Watch Fit 4 and Watch Fit 4 Pro are also part of the beta rollout, giving the user an opportunity to test new functionality until the OTA rollout is complete.
Snap-on devices Huawei Watch 5, 42 mm and 46 mm. Upon registration, they are able to receive the most recent build, although Huawei recommends the need to save data prior to installing it. The open beta model allows unlimited involvement, which is an indication that the stable release is near.
HarmonyOS 6 provides several usability-oriented and ecosystem-oriented enhancements of gadgets. There are new features such as touchscreen light mode to enhance better visibility, the ability to set custom vibration settings in alarms and muting of alarms through gesture. The update further allows the transfer of music files between iOS devices via the Huawei Health app.
Huawei has also strengthened smart collaboration amongst gadgets whereby users can now have control over audio broadcasting, system settings, and integrated accessories all through the smartwatch. The watch interface now allows headphone volume control, a noise cancellation switch and battery monitoring.
Although the beta is already being implemented in China, Huawei assured that customers around the world would also be able to update to Watch 5 right away, though the timeframes and available features might be different.
