Trump Government Orders a Temporary Halt to Health Information Distribution   

Trump's administration blocks health agency reports, which delays updates on bird flu outbreaks and other safety notifications.

In a recent announcement, Donald Trump administration told federal health agencies to stop sharing important health information to the public, in order to enhance medical security and safety. With this, the health officials across the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and National Institutes of Health (NIH) now face concerns about the directive.

Under the new guidelines and regulations, all agency releases must first pass through presidential appointees before they can be made public. While the new government conducts its health communication evaluation, the pause on communications will be effective from February 1. These new guidelines will be followed by all public health agencies until further notice. 

Health experts stated that stopping important health updates can delay emergency responses to current bird flu outbreaks, which will protect public health. They also emphasized the important role of CDC and FDA, and said it is important for these agencies to monitor health threats to track the disease outcome, while highlighting the importance of sharing the information to the public as early as possible.
