Transforma Insights states that Telefónica has secured its position as a leading IoT connectivity global player based on its new CSP IoT Peer Benefits Report 2025. The report points to excellent industry knowledge, developed Telefónica Tech solutions, and further innovation in its IoT offerings.

The analysis comments that Telefónica has one of the most integrated bundles of IoT solutions in the key areas, such as smart cities, healthcare, and industry. Its SIM orchestration, Kite managed IoT platform, is unique due to its strong infrastructure, robust relative to its peers, its open APIs, and AI-supported dashboards through which anomaly behavior of its IoT devices is identified.

Transforma Insights also focused on the big data and AI capability of Telefónica Tech and allowed analyzing the data of telecom networks, IoT sensors, and external data like weather and traffic. The IoT Data Ready and Asset Control features available in the Kite platform also assist in the integration of the cloud and remote management of assets completely.

Recently, Telefónica has broken a new record of over 51 million active IoT connections in 190+ countries, which makes it a leading company in the Spanish IoT with its over 12 million lines. It has rapid growth in use cases in mobility, healthcare, water, gas, and industrial digitalization.

The connectivity provided by the internet of things has enabled the company to power over 70 percent of certified V-16 connected beacons, which will replace emergency triangles in Spain.
