Deezer Flags AI Music to Curb Streaming Fraud

Deezer uses IT services to label AI-generated music and prevent streaming fraud, as this is essential for protecting artists and ensuring fair distribution of royalties.

Deezer French music streaming service is making a solid stand against musical AI abuse by implementing on-screen album labels that mark albums with AI-made songs. The development highlights that IT services are changing tracks to curb fraud in online entertainment.

Advanced IT services are being used with Deezer through its CEO Alexis Lanternier saying the platform is establishing the same to identify and tag AI-generated content of which has almost attained 18 percent of the number of uploads made daily. He stated, "We are playing AI against AI," which means that Deezer has developed tools capable of identifying nuances that only AI music generators can detect.

Deezer is making this effort in response to growing concerns about streaming manipulation. Most of the plays of AI songs Deezer thinks are because of bots or streaming farms, an increasing cause of concern in the IT services sector. To deal with this, tracks that have been marked as fraudulent by AI will be disconnected from receiving royalties.

This big move is an indication that IT services are becoming increasingly important as far as the security of intellectual property and fair streaming are concerned. The initiative of Deezer also contributes to a more general effort on the part of the industry to control generative AI production and counter copyright violations.
