WTTC Appoints New Chair-Elect for Travel and Tourism

Manfredi Lefebvre d'Ovidio was appointed as the Chair-Elect of WTTC and his experience will be used to enhance leadership in the global travel and tourism industry.

Manfredi Lefebvre d'Ovidio, Chairman of Heritage Group and Co-Chairman of Abercrombie and Kent, has been announced as the Chair-Elect of the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC). He has served the organization for more than twenty years, which is the focus of the announcement, which was announced prior to the 25th WTTC Global Summit in Rome.

Lefebvre, who is based in Monaco, has more than 40 years of experience in the cruise and leisure industry, including Silversea Cruises, which he turned into one of the market leaders in the luxury travel industry. His appointment is timely for the travel and tourism industry, which is still performing better than the global economic growth.

The Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome will host the succession of leadership between 28 and 30 September 2025. With the patronage of the Italian Ministry of Tourism, ENIT, the City of Rome and the Lazio Region, the event will welcome international leaders to debate the future of global travel and tourism.

Lefebvre will replace Greg O'Hara, WTTC Chair since November 2023. Julia Simpson, president and CEO of WTTC, described Lefebvre as a strong force that could help the organization reach new heights.

The WTTC is a highly important sector that provides almost 10 percent of the global GDP and sustains 320 million people. The appointment of Lefebvre does more than build strong leadership in the council, but it also builds a strong image of Monaco in the luxury travel and tourism arena in the world.
