Arena Comms is a boutique strategic communications firm where senior partners handle accounts directly, bringing White House, Senate, and Fortune 500 experience directly to clients’ challenges. The team of experts also has over 3 decades of combined experience, with 2 veterans of presidential administrations on board. The firm offers a unique blend of boutique attention with national-firm credentials. Unlike most agencies that put their best talent in the pitch room and delegate the newest hires to clients’ accounts, Arena ensures that the partners who won them are the ones working on each client’s account, helping them to deal with every crisis, every opportunity, and every week.
Furthermore, senior partners handling every account ensure that there are no hand-offs or junior teams. James Fuller, Jason Huntsberry, and Kurt Watkins provided personalized attention and worked meticulously on clients’ accounts. Arena Comms represents a unique mix of government and corporate crossover, with two White House veterans armed with Hill+Knowlton (H+K) leadership experience spearheading operations. Moreover, the firm handles AT&T’s largest US account, thus representing an unmatched diverse range of experience and clients. The firm has built decades of media, government, and corporate relationships through targeted efforts on a scale incomparable to that of soliciting clients via Google searches. Arena Comms measures its success by its clients’ outcomes; it evaluates client satisfaction through tangible results and not impressions or activity.
Arena Comms is a purpose-driven firm whose impressive track record spans high-stakes government, national public affairs campaigns, and Fortune 500 brand management. It has deep public-sector experience with major corporate and agency acumen gained from H+K Knowlton Strategies and serving as AT&T Strategic Lead, backed by background that includes White House Office of Political Affairs, a US Senate Chief of Staff, and leadership at the Transportation Security Administration (TSA). Having driven high profile initatives like the Pickens Plans, supported real estate and oil majors, and managed crisis response across Federal, State, County, and Fortune 500 environments, Arena Comms assists organizations with their most critical turning points by bringing battle-tested strategy and reputation defense to the forefront.
Arena Comms offers services across five disciplines, maintaining consistent high standards throughout by applying senior-level thinking to clients’ challenges and striving for measurable results as the only acceptable outcome.
Public Affairs and Issue Campaigns: Arena Comms’ heritage is built on turning challenges into victories by motivating opinion on bond elections, legislation, regulatory fights, and national policy debates. It helps clients in public communications and government relations by simplifying complex policy into compelling public narratives to drive action across all government levels. It also handles ballot measure and bond campaign strategy through full-campaign management for ballot initiatives comprising message, media, coalition, and voter outreach. Arena Comms coordinates stakeholder and coalition engagement by identifying and activating the allies its clients’ campaigns need and neutralizing opposition before it organizes. The firm also drives nonprofit and civic issue campaigns through mission-driven communications that build public will and sustain community support for long-term initiatives.
Executive Media Training: The firm prepares executives, officials, and spokespeople to perform at the highest level by conditioning them to face pressure, appear on camera and in front of hostile reporters, and address thousands from a stage. Its training program simulates real scenarios clients’ teams will actually face and not generic exercises.
Earned Media and Narrative Strategy: Arena Comms’ media relationships span national political press, major business outlets, regional papers, and broadcast networks, all of which are built over decades and not just assembled for a campaign. It deploys strategic narrative deployment where clients are assisted to build the consistent, compelling, and long-lasting story architecture underpinning all of their communications. It manages clients’ national and regional media relations where proactive outreach to the reporters and editors shaping opinion in their sectors and geographies is emphasized. The firm also helps clients align their messaging and content strategy by helping draft relevant talking points, op-eds, press releases, and executive statements. Arena Comms also helps manage new product and initiative launches by facilitating comprehensive launch communications that build anticipation, earn coverage, and sustain momentum.
Crisis Communications and Reputation Defense: Arena Comms helps clients with crisis preparedness and scenario planning, active crisis response management, legal and regulatory crisis communications, and reputation recovery.
Strategic Advisory: As a former CEO and H+K US leadership member, James’ unique perspective of having sat on both sides of the table guides Arena Comms to advise on communications strategy and business transformation, merger and acquisition communications, executive positioning and thought leadership, and communications function assessment.
By virtue of the comprehensive suite of services provided, Arena Comms ranks among the “Most Influential Public Affairs Firms to Watch 2026."
