CGI enhances its international management consulting services through an acquisition of Online Business Systems.
CGI has increased its management consulting presence by buying Online Business Systems (OBS), an IT and cybersecurity consulting company headquartered in Winnipeg. That strategic deal will help the Montreal-based giant to strengthen its management consulting, digital transformation, and AI-driven services provisions in North America.
OBS was started in 1986, and it provides services in the areas of business consulting, technical consulting, service management, customer engagement, data services, and cybersecurity. The firm has seven offices in Canada, US, the UK, and South Africa, which offer the firm regional knowledge and multidimensional strengths bolstered to enjoy the CGI portfolio in global management consulting.
OBS will add more than 350 professionals to CGI teams in Canada and the United States. According to the president of CGI Canada, Michael Godin, the acquisition will enhance the presence of CGI in Winnipeg and will also add OBS expertise in cybersecurity and AI to the management consulting services.
CGI has a workforce of 94,000 employees across the globe and gross revenue of 15.9 billion annually and it has been increasing in the business consulting, cloud and application development, analytics and managed IT. The founder and CEO of the OBS, Charles Loewen, expressed that the size of CGI and its culture would be a good fit with OBS with the provision of increased chances to clients and staff.
The acquisition also makes CGI a force in management consulting and technology solutions in the world market.
