Improve on Recycling and Waste Management Practices by Irish Businesses

With legal and environmental waste management goals for 2025, Repak is urging Irish businesses to improve recycling practices and make sure they comply with the three bin system.

A new study by Repak found that 29 per cent of Irish workers think they work in a non-compliant environment under the national recycling law. Indeed, research shows that 40 percent of Irish businesses are not following — or are not aware that they follow — the three-bin system. By July 2023, businesses across Ireland will be required to segregate waste into proper residual, mixed dry recyclables and biowaste bins for recycling and waste management.

Repak's "Resolve to Recycle Better" campaign calls on businesses to make sustainability an agenda priority this year. CEO Zoe Kavanagh noted that businesses, besides their legal obligations, are integral to Ireland's environmental aspirations. Thus, proper waste segregation means achieving the recycling target for the country including the target to recycle 55% of all plastic packaging by 2025.

Repak, most assuredly, will offer guidance and resources to businesses in aid of their endeavors in fulfilling the recycling and waste management requirements.
