Advanced Waste Management Practices in Goa are explored by IMC

The officials visited Goa’s advanced waste management facilities to discuss possible recycling and waste treatment solutions that can help in the making of Itanagar a sustainable city.

Prior to 2024 coming to an end, the Itanagar Municipal Corporation (IMC), led by Mayor Tamme Phassang, traveled to the key waste management facilities in Goa to see how innovative solutions can be implemented. IMC Corporators and officials along with the delegation took a look of Vasudha Waste Treatment Pvt. Ltd. and the Manohar Parrikar Integrated Municipal Waste Treatment Facility. These advanced waste management centers are running on standards, with specialization in waste recycling as well as the latest waste treatment technologies.

Mayor Phassang thanked the insightful presentations, saying "This was an invaluable learning experience. This will give us some knowledge as to how we can recycle and dispose of waste in Itanagar."

These insights will be applied by the IMC team to improve segregation of waste, recycling, and waste disposal in a sustainable way at Itanagar.
