China’s Unitree Unveils H2, A New Humanoid Robot

Unitree’s new H2 robot showcases stunning agility and control, raising both excitement and curiosity about the future of human-like machines.

China’s leading robotics company Unitree has unveiled its latest innovation, the H2, a full-sized humanoid robot designed to redefine physical precision and motion in robotics. Known for pushing boundaries with its earlier G1 and R1 models, Unitree’s newest creation combines remarkable agility with a distinctly emotionless human-like face, sparking both fascination and unease.

Standing at 5 feet 11 inches and weighing 154 pounds, the H2 moves with lifelike balance and rhythm. In a striking demonstration video, the robot performs ballet-like steps, shadowboxing, and even walks the runway in different outfits, displaying an almost artistic command over movement. Unlike its predecessors, the H2 features a mannequin-style face, expressionless yet eerily human, with camera “eyes” that observe its surroundings.

Powered by an Intel Core i5 processor and Jetson AGX Thor chip delivering over 2,000 trillion operations per second, the H2 operates for up to three hours on a single charge. With 31 degrees of freedom, it moves with precision that rivals the best humanoid prototypes in the world.

Unitree calls the H2 “Born to serve everyone safely and friendly,” hinting at future applications in service and companionship robotics. While the company has not revealed the price, experts expect it to rival its previous H1 model, estimated at around $90,000.

The H2 may not smile, but its performance suggests a bold step toward a world where robots could one day move, react, and perhaps even serve, just like humans do.
