Major infrastructure upgrades aim to transform Ludhiana into a Smart City through construction of an international airport and improved public services and updated railway station facilities.
The city of Ludhiana or the "Manchester of India" is expected to be transformed by a number of new infrastructural developments in the year 2025. An international airport is set to be opened in this city after it has progressed through the shaved expenditure of Rs 5,822.12 lakh before April. The redevelopment of Ludhiana's railway station has been close to completion with budgets of Rs 528.95 crore. Along with this, some improvements were also going on at Dhandari Kalan station.
The 83 projects being implemented as part of Ludhiana's Smart City initiative will contribute towards improving public services further through improvements made in service delivery like making available 24x7 water supply, medical services, and transportation. The very ambitious water supply project of Rs 3,394.45 crore is expected to redefine the means of how water is distributed. Public sector investment into a new medical college, upgrading the district hospital and the ESIC facilities will also focus on improving health care.
So these investments-to-smart infrastructures by Ludhiana are all set to pave the way for a progressive economy and smart living for the people.
