Emergent Startup Secures $23 Million in Series A

Emergent startup raises $23M in Series A to grow AI-enabled coding platform that is helping non-coders to develop production-ready applications.

Emergent, a rapidly growing new startup for agentic vibe coding, has raised $23 million in a new Series A funding period led by Lightspeed and supported by Together Fund, Y Combinator, Prosus Ventures, and well-known speculators like Jeff Dean and Balaji Srinivasan.

The total funding for the startup is now at $30 million, after a $7 million seed round. Emergent plans to utilize the capital for expanding its team, doing more research, and even improving its platform.

In the short span of 90 days, the startup beat out $15 million in annual recurring revenue (ARR) and enabled well over one million users to build more than 1.5 million apps. Its platform, which was designed to make app development simple, allows people without coding experience to create production-ready software that is also customizable.

According to CEO Mukund Jha, Emergent eliminates the technical friction of entrepreneurs and provides an AI-powered coding agent that is developed in-house to ensure reliability and security. Hemant Mohapatra, CEO and co-founder of Lightspeed, says that the startup is redefining who can develop software.
