The 2025 EdTech Fellowship in Nigeria highlights the changing digital learning solutions in Nigeria and enhances access and impact for underserved students across the country.
The EdTech ecosystem within Nigeria in particular came to a head as Co-Creation Hub (CcHUB), in collaboration with Mastercard Foundation, concluded the 2025 EdTech Fellowship in Lagos. The Demo Day composed a group of innovators, policymakers, and investors to highlight local-based digital learning innovations that can be used in underserved populations.
CcHUB Managing Partner Nissi Madu said the event was a festival of meaningful innovation, praising startup groups who have gone back to the drawing board to come up with solutions that address the needs of the learning cafe. The fellowship, which is now in its third edition, has assisted 36 African EdTech startups to fast-track access to digital tools as well as promote cross-continental education collaboration.
The list of 12 EdTech startups included in this year incorporates AI Teacha, Cloudnotte, BlueSands Academy, Tespire, Kryptr, Smart Stewards, hiPrep, Varsityscape, and Mavis Computel, which had over 21,000 learners collectively. Under the program, 7,000 teachers were involved, and more than 500 schools were served, especially the rural and semi-urban schools.
The Mavis Talking Book was also a significant invention that was developed to enable children living in marginalized societies to learn through storybooks with the use of audio pens, and this was especially the case in the IDP camps. Founders glorified the fellowship in offering needed direction, product advancement, and arrangement to amplify their influence.
According to the founder of Cloudnotte, Mary Matthew, the fellowship was viewed as a perpetrator of wider continental impact by Nathanail, bolstering Africans to generate greater inclusive, groundbreaking EdTech solutions.
The 2025 group also makes Nigeria one of the emerging centers of EdTech best practices and education innovation in Africa.
