Remko van Hoek Wins 2025 Supply Chain Award

Remko van Hoek, a University of Arkansas professor, celebrated worldwide contributions in the field of supply chain management and logistics innovation.

Remko van Hoek, professor at the University of Arkansas, Sam M. Walton College of Business, has received the most prestigious award in the profession of supply chain management with the 2025 Distinguished Service Award by the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP).

The award is used to acknowledge his lifetime contributions in the field of logistics, research and supply chain management education. Having over 20 years of experience, van Hoek worked as an executive at Disney, Nike, and PwC and still counsels Fortune 500 companies on making the procurement and supply chain resilient.

His research has been published widely all around the world in such sources as Harvard Business Review and MIT Sloan Management Review. Van Hoek is one of the 2 percent of all scientists in the world that are judged best with business and management and is also an executive director of the CSCMP Supply Chain Hall of Fame based in Rogers, Arkansas.

Van Hoek was inducted into the Hall of Fame with other prominent personalities like Lee Scott and J.B. Hunt of Walmart, where he showed his gratitude for these awards, stating that it was a privilege to the supply chain management field across the globe.

The award was introduced at the CSCMP annual EDGE conference held in National Harbor, Maryland, to recognize the global innovation and excellence in the supply chain process.
