Maruti Suzuki Launches Its First Electric Vehicle Model as e Vitara

Maruti Suzuki plans to start mass-producing the e Vitara electric SUV in India which will go worldwide from 18 lakh Rupees.

Maruti Suzuki India introduced their first battery electric vehicle (BEV) e Vitara and reached a major company milestone in Suzuki Motor Corporation. Maruti builds the e Vitara at its plant in Gujarat for international shipping to more than 100 countries particularly Japan and Europe. The company makes its second Maruti SUV shipment to Japan from the Indian production line after the Fronx model.

Built on the Heartect-e platform the e Vitara offers two battery choices at 49kWh or 61kWh with the vehicle achieving more than 500km of range after a full charge. The car features LED lighting, 18-inch aerodynamic wheels, an infotainment display with 10.1-inch touchscreen, seven airbags and Level 2 advanced driver assistance features.

Maruti expects to begin car production in spring 2023 and achieve EV supremacy in India by next year. Maruti Suzuki plans to launch the e Vitara in India at a starting price of Rs 18 lakh (ex-showroom) where it will battle the Hyundai Creta Electric and Tata Curvv.ev.
