B.Grimm and Siam Piwat work together on the sustainability of solar roofs and clean energy initiatives to minimize carbon emissions throughout Bangkok.
B.Grimm, a major conglomerate headquartered in Thailand, has collaborated with Siam Piwat Group to increase adoption of clean energy in the iconic destinations in Bangkok, including Siam Paragon, Siam Center, and ICONSIAM. The partnership aims at renewable energy, digital energy management and environmental sustainability.
According to the agreement, a 4,600-square-meter solar rooftop system would be installed at Siam Paragon with 793 kilowatt-peak (kWp) capacity that is expected to save 532 tons per year of carbon emission. The energy produced will be solar energy, which will serve Paragon Hall and one that is planned to be developed towards the end of the year 2025. The proposed project is a continuation of the solar rooftop installed by B.Grimm on the ICONSIAM and affirmed the commitment of Siam Piwat to use 100 percent renewable energy in all its shopping malls by 2030.
Dr. Harald Link, Chairman of B.Grimm, emphasized the sustainability and humane business practices, as the company has already become the leader in clean energy technology. Chadatip Chutrakul, chief executive officer of Siam Piwat, responded that the patronage was some sort of a prototype when it comes to clean energy management as well as enduring development of the metropolis in Thailand.
Other projects in this MoU include conservation of biodiversity, wellness based on the Gross National Happiness of Bhutan, and patronage to arts and culture by the Royal Bangkok Symphony Orchestra. The planned partnership is set to work closely with these projects to incorporate clean energy solutions to the benefit of sustaining the social and environmental health of society and a sustainable and resilient urban future.
