Juno Joule Green Energy and Select Energy Sign $1.3B Clean Energy Deal

Juno Joule Green Energy and Select Energy are teaming up on a $1.3 billion project in Andhra Pradesh to manufacture green hydrogen and ammonia for the world market.

Juno Joule Green Energy Pvt Ltd. in Vijayawada, a renewable energy business and German clean energy firm Select Energy GmbH have entered into an MoU to launch a $1.3 billion green hydrogen and ammonia facility in Andhra Pradesh. A formal agreement came into being when the World Hydrogen Summit 2025 was held in Rotterdam.

The clean energy facility is being designed for construction at Mulapeta port in three stages. It is set to deliver 180 KTPA of green hydrogen in 2029 which will then be turned into one million tons of green ammonia annually for export around the world. The project is set to start construction in 2026.

The project satisfies EU standards for RFNBO and should lead to 5,000 to 6,000 jobs for employees in operations, logistics and construction. It will help spread advanced technologies, improve skills and turn Andhra Pradesh and Telangana into top clean energy regions.

Using solar, wind and hydropower, the plant will include a seawater desalination plant and infrastructure designed for export. The Ninth Unit will be made better thanks to Thyssenkrupp Nucera, KBR Inc., and assistance from Germany and the Netherlands.

The partnership is a major development in India’s move toward clean energy.
