According to Arkana, a formerly unreported Ticketmaster data breach divulged sensitive information and made people call for better cybersecurity in place.
In a statement, the Arkana Security Group admitted to carrying out an attack on Ticketmaster that resulted in millions of people’s information being exposed. The stolen records are said to be put up for sale on the dark web with details such as ticket sales, payment records, demographics, and company documents.
According to the attackers, they have obtained information from SQL servers that contain people’s records, encrypted credit card data, and past transactions. It revealed that database management processes needed improvement because attackers were able to go beyond web application firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and DAM.
The experts believe that the Arkana attack has made phishing and stealing login credentials more likely, since it uses technical knowledge and might rely on SQL injections or someone with inside information. Experts believe the attackers managed to use advanced ways of hiding, like DNS tunneling and HTTPS cloaking, when dealing with Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, or PostgreSQL databases.
The entertainment sector is now deeply concerned, as it underscores the urgent need for stronger data management. Experts suggest that businesses should right away introduce privileged access controls, database encryption, and a zero-trust system to help fend off future intrusions.
Since cybersecurity is increasing, the Ticketmaster breach shows why it’s crucial to secure databases in every sector.
